Getting to know International Contacts Part 3
I live in North West Indiana and the issue of quality and early childhood professionals are being accepted as a part of the main stream school system. More kindergarten teachers are working with the ECE teachers in order to better prepare the children for public and private schools. The ECE workers are returning to higher education in order to gain more knowledge in child development. Many universities are offering classes for the ECE programs.
My professional goals are to complete my masters’ degree, to help other organizations to establish the standards for a quality and affordable programs and the ultimate goal is to establish a school for kindergarten readiness that is looked at as a formal school so that all children are able to receive a quality education.

ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful to have the ECE staff to work on improving their knowledge to make for a better learning experience for the children that they are teaching. I wish you much success in your attempt to establish a school gearing children for kindergarten while gaining a quality learning experience.
I think that ECE professionals and kindergarten teachers need to work together more closely to aide in getting our preschoolers ready for kindergarten. I feel this is an integral concept that is often times overlooked.
ReplyDeleteYes it is important for us all to work together for the child. My school has built a partnership with kindergarten teachers in our local schools and we support that teacher with supplies for her classroom if needed.
ReplyDeleteIt is very exciting to see many early childhood professional furthering their education. It is bringing acceptance of the importance of our field. As leaders in the field, we should be encouraging our staff with a true passion and dedication to the field to go to college.
ReplyDeleteIn Colorado Springs we even have a organization called Alliance for Kids. Alliance for Kids awards scholarships every semester. It is very beneficial to our staff. It only goes toward state qualification, ECT teachers, Directors, or AA degrees. It does not provide funds for BA or Ma.
Hello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI live in Alabama and school officials are making it mandatory for ECE to have an AA, BA or higher degree in early childhood. With the expansion of preschool programs they are trying to separate qualifications in Preschool and Elementary teaching. In other words, if an educator prefers to work in Preschool, they must have a AA, BA or higher degree in Early Childhood/ Child Development. If an educator prefers to teach Kindergarten and above, they must obtain a BA or higher degree in Elementary Education.
