"My Supports"
My first support is God; he has given the strength and my support team to get through my journey. My main supporter is my husband, and then will come my sister and parents. My husband is very supportive in my college career. Being that I am working fulltime and keeping up with other demands he is very understanding and patient. He is very helpful around the house and joins in with the household chores. If he sees that I stressed with other issues he will step in and manage the budget and will order take out.
My sister is another supporter she is always available to step in and help out when needed. My parents are both in their 80’s and support me when ever needed. My mother will cook for me and my father will drive my daughter to places or allow me to borrow his car when my car is in the shop.
Without these people in my life helping me, I would not have been able to return to school for either my bachelors or master degree in Early Childhood. They never ask for anything in return or expect it. I am in gratitude to them forever and thankful to God for all the blessings he has given me.

It is good that your parents are still able to lend a helping hand in time of need. I believe that if one is willing to do something for you, one should not look for something in return. It is good to hear that your support system do not ask in return, it shows it truly comes from the heart.
ReplyDeleteSandra,
ReplyDeleteMy husband is great at picking up the slack too. Sometimes I feel bad, when I am on my computer and he is doing dishes. I sometimes try to do the dishes, but he says go work on your school work I got this.
A lot of times in this world people only do things for others because they expect something in return or they want to stock up on their favors. I believe a true support is someone who is not doing things for others to get something in return, but to be a support to the person they love.
There is a scripture in the bible that is perfect for showing that God is a great support...there are many, but my favorite is Ps. 118:7.
"The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies." You replace enemies with troubles, aggravations, struggles.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI think you are very lucky to have such a great level of support from your husband, sister and parents. I think about the people out their that are not as lucky an do not have anyone to lean on and it makes me treasure and worship the people that support me. I think when it comes to parents (being a parent now) most are satisfied knowing that their children are OK and do not want anything in return from their children but the reassurance that they are OK.
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteYou are extremely blessed to have both parents who are able to support you as well as a husband who knows when to step in. Often we have no idea the magnitude of our supports until there is an interruption or the support ceases. Continue to show appreciation to those who are in your corner.
